It saddens me when I see marketers offer live classes or even live coaching and then forget to do anything with the recordings…if they have made recordings at all!

Freelancing or coaching is okay if you’re recording that coaching and adding it to a product. If you’re doing it the old way (offering a service without recording it) you’re not growing your business.

Likewise, if you run a class and don’t monetize it after the class is done, you are missing out on a lot of money because your training will go out of date, the questions and course-correction DO apply to future students and it is very easy to space out, or pad your training with extra useful content.
If you ran a class last year, do you think 100% of the information still applies today? Maybe not. If you ran a class five years ago, would all info still apply? What about 10,
15 or 20 years ago? Especially when we are talking about Internet marketing, many things will go out of date over time.
That is why you need to stop procrastinating, and take your training and sell it before it goes out of date; before there is some new Google or Government change that requires you to update.
If you ran a live class already, just set it up right now, at any price. Even if you are worried that your recordings are not going to sell for $97 per month, you have a 100% chance of it not selling if it is not set up!
So at least have some kind of way for somebody to join your membership site if they ask.
The great thing about making products and membership sites is that you don’t have to answer the same questions over and over.
You run the live training; you get the questions and now those questions are recorded, so if anybody asks them again, they can either find them on their own, or if they ask you, simply point them to the answer inside your site instead of typing out the response once again.
Also, when you are convincing people to join your class recording site, you can tell them that other people have already asked all the questions they were going to ask, so all the holes are plugged.
And finally, when you are looking back at the training you already gave, you are always going to be thinking of little things, or little reminders you should have added to the training. Now’s your chance! Go back and record some bonus videos, and sandwich them in between your original Webinars.
Now that I run live classes knowing that I will be running them again as a recurring membership site with just the replays, I am okay with letting the Webinars run a little bit longer, or recording an extra tutorial video just to show somebody how to do something because I know it is going to pay off and be less work for me in the future when I launch it as a recurring membership site.
That’s why you’ll recycle live webinars into membership sites: training goes out of date eventually; live questions improve your recurring site’s content; and it’s easy to fill missed gaps from live training.
