I’ve been thinking a lot about our recent Sunday service where the main impact statement was “Direction not intentions determines our destination”.
Our choices in direction led us down our current path. This makes me real- ize that people are similar to water— we tend to follow the path of least resistance. To be successful we need to, on occasion, go against the current or even paddle upstream to get to our desired destination.

The choices you have made this far have taken you down the path or road you are currently on. This just isn’t about any one aspect of our life, but many, and it affects our Hopes, Dreams, Beliefs, Education, Finances and Business.
Think about this—you’re taking a road trip and you realize you’ve made a wrong turn and are no longer head- ing toward your desired destination. Do you continue heading the wrong way, getting further and further away and using more and more resources? Or, do you stop, get your bearings and change directions to get back on course?
I’m guessing your answer is the second. If we do this while traveling down the road, we should also do this in life and in our businesses. Take a moment and look at the path you are on. Don’t look back to try to figure out what got you to this point, but take a moment to stop, get your bearings and refocus on the destination you set in your mind as to where you want to get to.
On the road trip we have maps and even GPS’ now that we simply put in the destination we want and it tells us turn by turn how to get there. In many aspects of our life we don’t have that luxury. You do have choices though to help you get where you want to be.
Those “choices” in your day to day life are asking the right person, men- tor or coach the questions you need answers to. Or, even determining what education you need and getting the right course or even book to help you get back on the right page of the “map” to steer you back on course.
Take a moment right now and look at the path you’re heading down. Is it the right one? Do you need to redirect your course? Maybe you’re on the right path and just need a tune up to get moving to reach that destination.
Wherever you’re in your journey, I hope you take a moment to make sure you still have that destination in mind.
