It’s never about how you start; it’s always about how you finish.

Have you ever felt like a fraud or doubted your ability like you’re not qualified to do what you do?
If you’ve ever felt this way, believe me there’s nothing wrong with you. In fact, it’s 100% normal. Some of the most successful people in the world deal with this over and over.
I believe we all have moments likes this, where we doubt our abilities or the fact that we are worthy of greatness.
At times, I still allow myself to wonder what right I have to go on stage and talk to rooms full of people. What right do I have to coach others? What right do I have to think I am at the level where other people should listen to what I have to say?
Why do we feel this way? What causes us to doubt ourselves?
I believe it’s because we see ourselves through our own history. We know who we are, we know where we come from and we know what we’ve done in our past. And because we see ourselves through our own history, we establish limiting beliefs.
I still see myself as a punk kid who had to take eight years of English in four years of high school because I failed English and had to go to summer school each year just to graduate.
So at times when I am consulting with an author or a business owner I ask myself, “Why am I here talking to this person? Don’t they know who I am?”
The answer to that question is, No, they don’t know who I was, they only know who I am now. You see, the world sees us as who we are, not who we used to be.
When I work with an author or a business owner, they only see the results they are getting based on the information I am giving them. In their eyes I am an expert because I give advice that brings them results.
So what right do I have to believe any different?
One of my favorite sayings and one I use all the time is: “It’s never about how you start; it’s always about how you finish.”
Regardless of how your life started, regardless of what you were like as a child, regardless of what you did in college or what you did last year, you are here today.
You are where you are for a reason, and if the people around you believe you are incredible, then believe them because you are!
The next time you doubt yourself, ask yourself, “Why do I have the right to be incredible?”
Look at what you do through the eyes of people around you who believe you are great. look at all the wonderful things you have accomplished. Then give yourself the freedom to answer that question honestly, and erase all doubts!
What you will find out is although at some point you may not have been worthy, today you are.
So be confident in who you are now, and stop thinking about who you were, continue to always press forward to be incredible and live life!
