There is a reason why many businesses (large or small) spend a lot of time and money to get on the first page of Google. The SERP (search engine results page) has a lot to do with the amount of clicks you get from keyword searches.
Sixty percent of total non-paid clicks come from the top three positions on the first page of Google!
Getting on the first page is great and something that any business should strive to attain.
In 2015 Google announced:
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.
Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

What does this mean?
If your website is not “mobile friendly” you will have less of a chance to be found on the first page of Google. Since mobile is the fastest growing distribution channel, every business needs to make sure their website can be found when people are searching on their mobile devices.
According to a recent study from GE Retail Bank, 81% of shoppers research online before purchasing. The study also mentioned that over 60% of people start their search for a new product on a search engine.
Make sure your website is Google friendly, mobile compliant.
