Observation is one of the keys to the Universe.
Many people tend to ignore that which is obvious. In fact, on occasion I think everyone does.
This reminds me of a story, actually a legend, I heard a long time ago regarding the secrets of the universe.
According to legend, the gods realized the secrets of the universe were much to powerful for man to comprehend. Even though this power was intended to be used for good, it could, if it fell into the wrong hands be used for evil with devastating results.
The gods decided they must hide this knowledge from man forever.
The big question was, where could they hide it? Where would it be safe from discovery for all eternity? After an endless search of the heavens and the earth and much discussion they decided to hide the secrets of the Universe where mankind would never look. Where would that be?
They decided to hide it in plain sight!
In their infinite wisdom, the gods knew exactly how mankind would search for this wisdom. They knew mankind would always seek eternal fulfillment and would always look elsewhere for knowledge.
So…they hid the secrets in the last place mankind would ever look…in mankind’s own mind! (At least that’s how I remember the story.)
In my opinion, the gods were right on spot with that decision.
Most people ignore what is happening all around them. Instead of leaning in and being aware of the present, they look to the past and/or fixate on the future. They ignore the current happenings and opportunities that are going on around them right now! Opportunities are making themselves available around them all the time yet they fail to see them.
Mankind is so self-centered, so involved in their own little universe, so fixated on what they have done and in what they want to do that they don’t see what’s going on around them right now!
What I’ve found is that successful people tend to observe their surroundings far more than than the average person. They observe everything going on around them.
I believe this creates the perceived, mystical power of the ultra successful. This is why it appears that ultra successful people can foretell the future.
