Most people make resolutions for the New Year, but I want to make a declaration.
I declare this year to be the year of Choice. That means this year I want you and I to start thinking about the choices we make and understand how each choice impacts our future.
We live in a unique time in history. There are more choices available to us than ever before. Having so many options can be a great thing because with those choices comes a plethora of opportunities. But we have to be careful because as great as it is, it can also be very overwhelming.
It could be argued that life was simpler when there were fewer choices to make.
In a world not that long ago, it was easy to go into a store and buy a pair of jeans. There were really only a few different brands to choose from.
Now, there are hundreds of different brands and dozens of styles from each brand. It’s enough to cause you to have a nervous breakdown in the fitting room.
So, why is the power of choice so important?
- It is the ONE Power That is 100% Yours!
It’s the one power that no one can take away, circumstances can influence but not strip from you, and no one can do it for you. You have to make decisions.
Even when life happens, and it feels like you are buried by situations beyond your control, you still have a choice. You have the choice of how you respond, how you accept those circumstances and how you feel in those situations.
In moments of desperation you can choose to be a victim or choose to be a victor, but the fact is — it’s your choice!
- It’s What Allows YOU to Determine What Your Future Will Be.
The power of choice is what allows us to determine where we go in our life, what happens in our life and how far we go and how fast we get there.
People often look back and blame the past for why they aren’t moving forward. That’s simply not true.
The truth is that every situation that has ever happened in your life has only done one thing — it has brought you to this point where you are right now.
Regardless of what has happened in your past, it’s what you choose to do in this moment that determines what happens in your future.
Not choosing is a choice!
When you decide not to choose, you are giving your power over to someone else or circumstance,
and that strips away your power to determine your own outcome. Make sure you make your own choices and choose wisely.
We choose to believe or not.
We choose to have relationships or not. We choose to do good or to do evil. We choose to enjoy freedom or to remain captive.
It’s your choice!
Life brings you opportunities, but it’s your choice to say yes or no that
determines the speed and depth of our success.
