I talk to many small business owners and many of them question why they need a website. They say, “well, isn’t it just a glorified business card or just a digital flyer of my business?”
The answer is, not really. Your website is more than a business card. You can, in fact use it for that function but there is so much more you can do with your website.

In my Amazon Kindle book, 30-Minute Web Guides: Getting Started Online I share things you should consider about getting started online, but there are many things even existing websites are missing.
I’ve talked in detail about some of these before in previous articles, but here is a quick list of other ways to benefit from having a website online.
- Generate Customer Leads
- Build Rapport
- Build Credibility
- Improve Reputation
- Build a Following
- Grow Customer Prospect List
- Provide Information
- Make Online Sales
- Take Online Payments
- Provide Online Catalog
And that’s just scratching the surface of what is possible. One thing we do know is that people buy from those they know, like, and trust. What if a customer felt they knew you BEFORE they even walked into your physical business?
This can be done via blog posts and article like you are reading right now. Video posts or even an audio podcast is another great way to get people to know you. Sometimes it’s a simple as providing tips for people who are curious about what you do.
By providing those tips along with photos or video of yourself on a website, you will find that people will connect with you and start utilizing your services or products.
