Do we ever have enough visitors to our sites? Driving traffic to your blog and other websites will make it possible for you to build your online business very quickly. There are three ways to get traffic, as you have probably already heard. You can build it up over time on your own, borrow it from others, or buy it in the form of advertising on other sites. No matter which of these methods you choose, it is imperative that you make a plan of action as to how you will drive massive, targeted traffic to your blog and other websites on the Internet.
When I was just starting out I decided to build up my traffic the old-fashioned way; I started writing articles every day. This was a good strategy for me, and I have now written more than 1,600 articles. I recommend repurposing everything, as I have done with these articles. Over the past few years I have turned this writing into eBooks, short reports, audio and webinar trainings, books for Amazon’s Kindle, and as a paperback book.
The traffic you build in this way will be not only targeted, but also highly qualified. This is because your prospects will have read something you wrote and feel that much closer to knowing you and your approach to your topic. When they do click over to your site from that article it will be very different than if someone comes from a site where there is no connection to you.
Borrowing traffic means that you are receiving visitors who are already connected to someone in your niche.
My favorite way to borrow traffic is through guest blogging, and I believe this is the very best way to get new visitors and build your list in the process. I’m not sure why more people don’t use this technique on a regular basis.
Find bloggers in your niche who are willing to exchange posts with you. There are no rules about this, but I typically exchange a series of three posts with the other person. This really comes in handy when you are going to be out of town or just can’t think of a good topic for your next blog post.
As part of the Marketing University family you have access to many people with whom you could trade guest posts. It all starts by you asking someone if they would be willing to do this. Make sure their niche is similar or complimentary to yours, they post frequently to their blog, and they understand the importance of this method of driving traffic for best results.
Buying traffic is most effective if you need eyeballs on your sites very quickly, but you absolutely must make a study of this so you don’t end up spending money you don’t have. Armand offers us the best training available on this topic, and he continues to share new tactics and strategies to help us all increase our knowledge and maximize our results.
There is also a fourth way to get more traffic, and that is by ‘recycling’ the traffic you already have. This can be done effectively by sending out short reports to your list, asking visitors to your blog to sign up for an e-course, and spending some time each day on the Big Three social media sites – Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn – to invite your friends, followers, and connections to download something you have created.
As you can see, there are various ways of driving massive targeted traffic to your sites. Start with article marketing and guest blogging to see which techniques work best for you. Always think ahead as to what you can do today that will continue to bring you more traffic in the months and years ahead.
