I want to be interviewed and specifically, I want to get on the radio. Just about every radio station has a morning or afternoon show where their DJs not only play music, but they bring in guests to interview.

The reason I think getting on radio talk shows is great is because unlike regular interviews, talk shows will allow you to have a bigger conversation. Generally you will be able to not only plug your book but your website, as well.

Most authors make the mistake of neglecting local radio. They all seem to think that one day Oprah’s team will call. That’s a big mistake. Oprah is probably not going to come calling anytime soon, and your local radio stations are eagerly looking for people to interview. So take the easy route, get on the radio!

I know it seems like I’ve said this a couple of times now, but I never want to stop making new products. If you get one thing out of this, I want you to know you have to do more than just create products, but you can never
stop creating them either.

So while doing the marketing and promotion of books, interviews and products you’ve created, you have to continue to seek out new ideas and create new products, as well…

WORK On Your SPEAKING SKILLS AND TRY TO GET ON STAGES

Being on stage makes  you  an  instant  expert. People don’t usually question the authority of a speaker they see on stage. Most people just assume that if a seminar promoter is willing to put someone on stage then that person must be an expert.

Find out what seminars are being conducted in your industry, and make contact with the promoters of those events. Let them know that you’ve got a bestselling book, and would love to speak on their stage.

If you have a bestselling book you’ve got credibility behind you and if you follow the other tips I’ve shared, you’ve got products that will sell well in that market.

You have to have products you can sell, because you may not get paid up front to speak. Some events are paid and some are not. If the event is a paid event, meaning you get a fee to speak, then you probably will not be allowed to sell anything from stage.

If the event is an event you don’t get a fee for speaking, then you will probably be asked to sell a product. This is why it’s important to plan ahead and be prepared for the opportunities that come your way.
