Taking Actions On Your Goals

We have an enormous task ahead of us if we want to achieve all our goals, including the ‘make more money goal.’ Well, there are 365 days in a year and by the time you read this we’ll have already blown through over 60 of them. We have to make each of these days count for something. For the majority of people, that’s a big part of the problem.

During the end of a year and the beginning of the next, people make resolutions and goals they hope to accomplish. That’s all well and good, but resolutions and goals are worthless unless you back them with action.

We are now a couple of months into the new year and we should be looking at what we’re doing in relation to our resolutions and goals.

Is where you are headed in line with our goals?

In regard to your business, I’m sure one of your goals is to make more money. I know it is one of mine and is one of mine every year. We should always strive to grow.

In order to succeed we need to know the process of achieving this growth. We need concrete examples of what we could and should be doing in order to get things done.

Persistence Pays Off

We have an enormous task ahead of us if we want to achieve all our goals, including the “make more money goal.” Why do I say it’s an enormous task? Well, there are 365 days in a year and by the time you read this we’ll have already blown through over 60 of them. That gives you right around 300 days left to accomplish everything you are have set out to do. We have to make each of these days count for something. For the majority of people, that’s a big part of the problem.

This year, 2021, is my 25th year of working online. I started online in 1996 and now, 25 years later, I’m still successfully working full time online. And in those 25 years I’ve discovered that most people have one big problem, and it’s more prevalent than any other problem.

An interesting fact is that this is true of both online and offline businesses—both have this same problem with running their own businesses.

What is this problem? Actually, a better way to phrase the question might be, “Why don’t more people succeed in running their own business?”

Finish It

The biggest reason people don’t succeed is they don’t finish— they just don’t follow through to the end.

Think about it—this is so true!

There are a lot of reasons people don’t finish what they start, but there is usually something internal that’s holding them back. Now for some people it’s easy to overcome whatever it is that’s holding them back.

Let me explain.

Many of us, me included, are somewhat introverted. But all of us have a friend or at least know of someone who can go out and strike up a conversation with complete strangers. They don’t care—they have no built in limiter that stops them or even slows them down from starting that conversation. These limiters are what prevent us from following through.

These limiters sabotage us, somewhere along the line, and prevent us from following through to the end.

How does this happen? Usually, it’s talking through the same old worn-out excuses such as, I don’t have time; I don’t have money; I don’t know how; if only I knew this or that I would be able to finish. We end up putting ourselves in situations that prevent us from finishing. Maybe we say “yes” to someone when we should have said “no.” At other times we lose our focus.
